GREAT SLIDE PRESENTATION!

Navigating office relationships can sometimes seem like walking through a mine field. Some colleagues are highly dysfunctional, incredibly obnoxious—or both. Despite that, you have to deal with them and still get your job done. The book, “Dealing with People You Can't Stand: How to Bring Out the Best in People at their Worst”(McGraw-Hill Professional/available now) profiles the classic suspects. Better yet, it offers practical advice for not only co-existing with these individuals, but managing them so they can provide value to the organization. Authors Dr. Rick Kirschner and Dr. Rick Brinkman contend that the first step in overcoming an insufferable co-worker is controlling your response, rather than controlling your colleague. The authors are naturopathic physicians who advise corporate clients such as IBM, LucasFilm, Quaker Oats and the U.S. Army on conflict management and communications strategies. Here are six classic "can't stand 'em" types and how to work effectively with them.Difficult-CoWorkers

We need your input!

CMS is conducting a systematic review of the Conditions of Participation for Long-Term Care Facilities and has asked Pioneer Network and a number of other organizations to weigh in during the pre-rulemaking phase. They are looking for feedback on how these regulatory standards could be improved or what standards should remain unaltered. They are particularly interested in any feedback that would promote resident-centered care, improve quality, reduce burdens, and make the regulations. The current regulations can be accessed here: http://www.theconsumervoice.org/medicareregsforLTCfacilities. NCCAP would like to obtain feedback/comments from all of you - the state culture change coalitions - so that we can incorporate them into their comments that need to be submitted to CMS by July 2nd.

Send your written comments to info@nccap.org by June 25th - You have to make note of WHICH standard they are making comment on - and it has to be written so that NCCAP can share it with others on your behalf.
